Awakening the 'Higher You'
Have we ever wondered as to why the transcendental information that was once available to mankind according to all Holy Scriptures has now become so obscure? I read somewhere that you either may believe that Christ once roamed this planet or you may believe he never existed, but you certainly cannot call him a liar. Today, there are so many God men, but has anyone ever offered the same comfort by saying that merely believing in what he says will bring you to salvation? Even if someone says so, no one has the conviction to make people believe on such a grand scale. Even if some people indeed believed on such a person, others would call him a liar and the followers delusional. No one would even bother to convict, torture and kill him like the Romans did with Christ. Why? Because of the mere fact that no one in the present age has the same confidence, conviction and capability to display miracles that can really establish one as being supreme to others in the same way as him, but then, probably all those miracles would now simply be called fables, because we haven’t seen him perform them. This page is not meant to show that one religion is any greater than the others, nor is this page a religious page at all. It is more important to be spiritual, rather than being religious. Why? Because all religions are merely paths leading to the inherent goodness and spirituality of a being that ultimately leads every soul to divinity. We need not absorb any religiousness in ourselves; we just need to discover our inner religions. No matter whether we really call ourselves a Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh or an atheist, we are all really body bound souls and spirits, having our definite purpose of existence on this planet. Staunch non-believers claim that all this is really for the weak-minded who need the comfort of believing in some higher good, a super power called God and the fear of doing wrong by worrying about a bad afterlife. Today’s age always needs explanations, proofs and equations for everything, because we are convinced that we are gradually scientifically advancing through such breakthrough discoveries. Have we ever wondered that even before we really knew that the planets are round, they revolve in elliptical orbits or long before Watson and Crick even discovered the double helical structure of the DNA, did these facts exist or not? Of course, you will say...what difference does the discovery of a phenomenon make upon the same? Nothing! Isn’t it astonishing? When we believed that light had wave nature, Young’s double slit experiment established the same. Yet, when Einstein came across problems which couldn’t be overcome by this model, the packet (discrete particle) or quantum nature of photons came as the only rescue. Now, how would we explain this? The same thing displays two distinct natures, both mathematically compatible with two different models or scientific experiments, none of which are singularly right or wrong. Here comes the gray area that is beyond the Boolean binary 0 and 1 or ‘yes’ and ‘no’ of Science. These phenomena cannot fit in any ‘yes’ or ‘no’ frame. Every equation has a lot of assumptions, which are based only upon a set of observations, e.g. we assume that ‘π’ is roughly 3.14159...... or ‘g’ is roughly 9.8 m/s2. And there comes another factor called the ‘Factor of Safety’, which cleverly hides our lack of exact knowledge or the limitations of our ‘accurate’ scientific fundamentals. Thinking of another aspect altogether; going very scientifically (believe me this has been the topic of too many researchers who are mathematical genii, you might even refer tohttp://www.princeton.edu/~grosen/puc/phi203/goodman.htm) we know that most mathematical calculations are based upon interpolation and / or extrapolation. We never know that the sun will rise tomorrow, but then we have been teaching our children that it is a universal truth that ‘the sun rises in the east and will continue doing so’. How do we know? No higher power and certainly not the sun itself have whispered into our ears that it promises to do so. And yet.... why? Because we extrapolate our experience till date to assume that the pattern won’t break. Similarly, no one can be certain that we are going to die one day, and yet, we know for certain that we will. This too has been incorporated firmly in our belief because of the millions of creatures we have observed living and then dying. Another extrapolation! Well, if that is true, and we have taken birth once, what prevents us from believing that we shall reincarnate? Why not extrapolate in this case? The only argument that comes into our rational minds is that we really don’t have any proof that there really is an ‘I’ beyond my physical body, i.e. speaking succinctly, there is no proof of existence of a soul, which is a separate entity from our physical bodies. Well said....if that is so, why believe that we are all mortals? Why believe that the temperature at the core of Earth is approximately 6000° C or that light travels @ 299 792 458 m / s? These too haven’t been physically proved, but have been concluded on the basis of certain mathematical assumptions and a lot of statistical data, which are nothing but merely a set of systematic compilation of observation. Why do we believe that there once were people like Alexander, Aryabhatta, Chanakya or Nebuchadnezzar? Who has seen them? Certainly not any living being presently dwelling on this planet. Any photographs? No....none! But, we still believe that these are historical figures who really existed and roamed this planet, because our historical annals claim so. Coming back to our point, we believe that the Shrimadbhagvadgita, the Bible, the Quran, the Granth Sahib, the Tripieetak, the Jatak etc. are religious texts with mythological contexts. Why cannot these be taken as having historical contexts as well? Why say that the authors of these texts merely had wild imaginations to document the most improbable things? Just because the things written in these texts are far beyond our present sphere of comprehension or scientific explanation. But then, there are millions of things / events those yet need proper scientific explanations, e.g. the reason behind extinction of the giant reptiles on this planet, or the reason behind the rise and fall of the Harappan civilization, and so on..... What we have are only hypotheses as to our assumptions about the probable reasoning behind such events, none of which can be proved. These may only be deduced based upon other historical annals, if at all. So, if all the religious texts support one another in as much as that there really is a separate entity called the ‘soul’ within this physical body, what exactly prevents us from believing in the same? Maybe the fact that an amoeba is a living thing as well, thereby causing the downfall of our assumption that all living things are actually souls within some physical matter. This is a complication, a hurdle that actually doesn’t question as to the fact that souls exist, but then why is a soul born into as inconsequential a body as that of an amoeba, while some other soul takes birth within the body of a human being? There must be some pattern in such scheme of things. The answer obviously can be found only in spirituality, because as of now, science and spirituality are still two separate realms that are complimentary to each other, two halves of the same sphere. Spirituality says that there is simply the basic difference between the degrees of existence of things, soul not being an exception. Simply speaking, the lesser degree of soul incarnates in a lesser body, while a higher degree of soul attains a higher body. Therefore, a primordial soul that has yet to evolve into a much higher state takes birth within the body of an amoeba, while a soul that has been eternally evolving takes birth within a human body. The whole of plant and animal kingdoms lie somewhere in between. Next, comes the question as to why should a soul evolve at all? The answer that is offered by all religions is simply because each soul has got its unique journey of an eternity of births and rebirths until it merges once again with the infinite reservoir from whence it separated. This is what or who all religions call the Godhead or the Supreme Almighty. If the above is really understood to be our purpose of existence on this planet, then comes the question as to what exactly do we need to evolve during this lifetime? The answer is simple....REALIZATION. This page simply is an endeavour to raise the cosmic vibrations by imbibing some amount of understanding and love into everyone who comes across it. It is a humble effort, nevertheless just the beginning of ‘AWAKENING THE HIGHER YOU’.
